The governing body meets twice termly and oversees the smooth running and finance of the school. They visit the school regularly and are invited to attend INSET days. This page is about our Governing Body.
Governing board is responsible for:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
Chair of governors Diane Croston writes:
“Being part of the governing board provides an opportunity to make a real difference to the education of children in the school. Whilst it demands commitment and can be quite a challenge it also provides a tangible sense of achievement.
Governors use their wide and varied skills and life experiences to help with the strategic management of the school. Every governor has a unique contribution to make. Being a governor is a collaborative process and provides the opportunity to enjoy working with a great team of people. It is also an opportunity to play a supportive role within the school and the wider community.
Life in education never stands still and governors sign up to support the school and to be part of an on-going journey; problem solving, innovating and providing the best education and experiences for the children, parents, staff and wider community.“
The Headteacher, Rikke Waldau, is a member of the governing body because of the position she holds in the school.
We have agreed a Code of Conduct: Code of Conduct October 2021 (2)
All the governors of Greenfield Nursery school below have signed the declaration of interest form (Declarations-GreenfieldNursery). If any interest a governor has could be seen to cause a conflict of interest they would be asked to withdraw from any decision making concerned. This is to ensure that our governors can always be seen to be putting the interest of the school first. None of our governors has any interest to declare. We always check at the beginning of every meeting if anyone’s circumstances have changed, so the register is always kept up to date.
