Why did you decide to become a governor at Greenfield?

I was approached by the former Head of my son’s primary school, where I had been a governor for 11 years. She asked if I would be interested in becoming a governor again, as the school (which was unknown to me at the time) needed to be supported.

What do I bring to the governing body?

I have previous experience as a governor – so I understand the role.

I worked for Camden Council for 22 years in the Education Department within the SEN section. I liaised with Heads, SENCOs and a wide range of agencies and other LEAs. I worked very closely with parents in a variety of roles, including Family Support Worker, to support their understanding of processes and statutory procedures. I have excellent communication skills.

What was the most important thing you took from the Vision conference in September?

I appreciated the need for the school to have a “Mission Statement” and for everyone, at every level, to work together, to ensure the best provision for children attending Greenfield.
